Future Educators of America
Return Clubs Page

We are excited to introduce you to a very active club at HHS, the
Future Educators of America (FEA).

Future Educators of America is sponsored by Phi Delta Kappa, the professional fraternity in education. The purpose of FEA is to coordinate information for students about teaching as a profession, employment opportunities, financial assistance options, and educational issues such as professional mobility, diversity, job security, and other matters.

It helps students gain a realistic understanding of the nature of education and the role of the teacher.

The good health of our nation's schools depends on bringing into classrooms as new teachers the brightest and best among today's students. Teaching needs to be viewed as a promising career option. Particularly needed in the future will be teachers from diverse backgrounds who will be sensitive to the increasing diversity in our classrooms.

FEA helps you to explore teaching as a career option, provides you with a realistic understanding of teaching, and encourages students from diverse backgrounds to think seriously about the teaching profession.

The teachers pictured here were those chosen by their students to receive the "Pick of the Hawk's Nest" Award for excellence in teaching.
