In addition to helping develop values, confidence, leadership, supervisory skills and an appreciation for the importance of good citizenship. There are other tangible benefits for participation and successful completion of JROTC.

If a cadet successfully completes one or more years of JROTC he or she is automatically eligible to enlist in a branch of the military at an advanced pay grade of E-2.

If a cadet successfully completes three or more years of JROTC, and receives a recommendation from the Senior Army Instructor, he or she can enlist in the Army, Air Force or Navy at an advanced pay grade of E-3.
Upon graduating from high school, a cadet entering college ROTC can request and often receive credit for the first and possibly second year of ROTC.
Cadets applying for scholarships find that their chances for receiving a scholarship are often enhanced by the experiences and success in JROTC.

Most JROTC cadets that apply to the service academies find that they have a more competitive profile because of their involvement in JROTC.
