HARDAWAY RIFLE TEAM

The Hardaway High School Rifle Team is a Varsity sport governed by the rules of the Georgia High School Association. As such it is open to all eligible males and females who attend Hardaway High School.

While the Senior Army instructor coaches the high school's varsity team, enrollment in JROTC is not a prerequisite. However interested cadets should be aware that JROTC cadets on the varsity team are allowed to compete in JROTC sponsored matches and as such comprise a JROTC team. This allows cadets to compete as a Hardaway JROTC team and enter postal as well as shoulder-to-shoulder matches sponsored by Cadet Command or subordinate headquarters.

Students considering trying out for the varsity team should also consider the many benefits of participation in JROTC. Cadets on the rifle team are eligible for several awards including marksmanship badges, cords, tabs and ribbons. Additionally, two to three cadets are recognized for marksmanship accomplishments annually at the District-wide JROTC awards night.
